About
My name is Will Gilles. My passion for photography began when I was 21 years old. I won my first camera in a raffle and once I got it in my hands and started taking some simple photographs I fell in love. My early work was not good at all, but I loved it. I didn’t know how to use my camera correctly, I didn’t know all the features, and I was shooting on full auto mode. I decided to go to the local bookstore and read some books about my camera and digital photogrphy in general. As I started to understood how everything worked my photography started to get better and better.
When I returned to college in the Fall of 2008 I wanted to bring my new found passion of photography to my school and I searched for a photography club, but did not find one. I was bummed out that my school did not have one so I did the next best thing, I made one! With the help of one other student and a faculty advisor I started a club with a strong initial following. The next semester at a student involvement fair the editor in chief of the school newspaper approached me about becoming the photography editor for the paper. I gladly accepted the opportunity and was elected to the position.
Every day I try to find something to take a picture of. I carry my camera with me everywhere and am always trying to envision something that would make a wonderful photograph. Nothing makes me happier than taking a picture and seeing how great it turns out once I return home and get it on my computer. I founded Gilles Photography in 2009 to bring my passion to you.
I hope you enjoy my photographs as much I enjoy taking them.
